River Twyver Phase A - Gloucestershire

Appointed by Halcrow in behalf of the Environment Agency, this sixteen week programme involving CCTV inspections and de-silting of open and culverted sections of this watercourse was completed on time and within budget. The River Twyver, runs through the city of Gloucester and was surveyed and cleaned as part of the EAs Strategic Flood Risk Management programme. Completion of works should reduce the risk of flooding in key areas of the city following heavy and sustained rainfall.

Aquajets responsible approach to pollution control and use of coffer dams, settlement tanks and in-stream mitigation barriers, was well demonstrated. Daily testing of the watercourse for turbidity, temperature, ammonia and PH ensured stability of the watercourse, with works being temporarily suspended when necessary to facilitate normalisation of key watercourse measures. Project Director for Halcrow stated: Aquajet performed well and demonstrated very good project management of this important programme.
