Dredging & Re-profiling of Greaves Lanes Watercourse

Under our Framework Agreement with Environment Agency in the North East, we regularly dredge / de-silt COWS (Critical Ordinary Watercourses) and Main Rivers to improve flows and reduce risk of flooding under the FRM (Flood Risk Management) Programme.

A recent example of such work is in South Yorkshire, where problems from build-up of silt and rubble was causing localised flooding and causing adjacent structures to be overwhelmed following heavy and sustained rainfall. Using a variety of techniques and equipment, including over-pumping (hydrainer pump) Jet-Vac Tanker, Digger & Dumper truck, we managed to restore flows to normal levels and significantly reduce the risk of flooding.
